Know your computer specifications and troubleshoot

DxDiag ("DirectX Diagnostics") is a diagnostics tool used to test DirectX functionality and troubleshoot video- or sound-related hardware problems. DirectX Diagnostic can save text files with the scan results. These files are often posted in tech forums or attached to support emails in order to give support personnel a better idea of the PC the requester is using in case the error is due to a hardware failure or incompatibility.It reports detailed information about the DirectX components and drivers installed on your system.



Instructions:

  1. In the "Run" command dialog box , type "dxdiag".[ Win7 users can directly type dxdiag after clicking 'Start' button on the task bar.]



  2. Now click 'OK'.

  3. DirectX Diagnostic tool will show you system's information.



  4. Now you switch between the Display, Sound1, Sound 2, Input tabs to view if there is any problem to the drivers installed for the hardware of the computer.
