Have you ever wanted to send confidential information within your work environment, to family or friends, but were afraid to do so over the internet, because some malicious hacker could be spying on you?
Privnote is a free web based service that allows you to send top secret notes/messages over the internet as unique one-time-use HTTPS URLs  that expire after its first access via any web browser.

It's fast, easy, and requires no password or user registration at all. Just write your note, and you'll get a link. The link generated for the note starts with HTTPS ie. it is encrypted with 128-bit encryption so there is no worry about you note's security. Then you copy and paste that link into an email (or instant message or Facebook message) that you send to the person who you want to read the note. When that person clicks the link for the first time, they will see the note in their browser and the note will automatically self-destruct; which means no one (even that very same person) can read the note again. The link won't work anymore [Link won't even work in History of the browser] but recipient can copy the note or can take screenshot.

[Note: Don't open the link to check it , it will self destruct the same moment and will not work afterwords]
The note will self-destruct after being read

You can also choose to be notified when your note is read by submitting your email and a reference for the note. When a note is retrieved, you will be notified and its data is completely removed from Privnote, which implies there is absolutely no way to recover it again.

"Since only the link binds the decryption key to the note's content and since Privnote does not have the link, at no time is any note held in any readable format state at Privnote. This assures that nobody (including Privnote's administrators) can read a note."

Even if you lost the link there is no worry as when a note is not retrieved after 30 days, Privnote removes it permanently, just as if it were read.

Note: Depending on the communication channel of your choice (e.g., email, fax, SMS, phone, instant messaging), there may be a certain risk that third parties intercept your communication, get knowledge of the communicated URL and thus may be able to read your message.

Tip: If you regret sending the note or if I mistakenly send it to someone you do not want to read it? Simply open it at your browser it will be destructed.
I hope the next you need to send a confidential information you must remember this service to use.
Sometimes we want to send large file over the internet which most of the email services don't allow us to  do so. The max file size of attachment  is 25 MB for a single email and to send a large file we may need to split the file. You may also send it by uploading at file sharing sites but that is not affordable sometimes and it may risk your privacy. But what we are here going to do is to transfer the files directly to the peer without being stored anywhere. Pipebytes allows to send music, movies, presentation or any kind of files via browser at free of cost, you don't need to install any kind of software or plugin/extension etc. and you don't even need to register on the site and no hassle to fill email address, all you need is a browser and your file. It supports all major browsers on all popular operating systems. The peer can download the file as soon as it uploads from your side. It offers a speed of 5 Mbps and speed up to 30 Mbps per transfer with Speed pass[24-hour Speed Pass for $0.99] which is very cheap.

Lets see how it works:
Open pipebytes.com in your browser.
Choose the file that you want to send and click transfer file, you will be then  prompted with a pick up code.

Forward the pick up code to file recipient. Once recipient enters the code he/she will be able see the details about the file that is going to be received and click on start transfer to start the file transfer.

Once the file transfer had started, the sender will also be able to see the progress of file transfer [ Note: You should not close the browser tab/window till the whole transfer is done ]
.
Its very simple and all just happens within the browser. You can send file of any size anywhere you want to send.

Its very easy way to send large files to anyone. Hope you find this useful.
You can delete a file either by pressing DELETE button and then empty the recycle bin some other day or you may do SHIFT+DELETE to delete it permanently but to your surprise its not permanently deleted .Here is why

"When you delete files or folders, the data is not initially removed from the hard disk. Instead, the space on the disk that was occupied by the deleted data is "deallocated." After it is deallocated, the space is available for use when new data is written to the disk. Until the space is overwritten, it is possible to recover the deleted data by using a low-level disk editor or data-recovery software."

Before the file is overwritten, anyone can easily retrieve it with a disk maintenance or an undelete utility.

To permanently erase files and prevent your confidential files from getting into wrong hands, Microsoft offers a free command line utility – SDelete (Secure Delete) – that overwrites all the free space to prevent data recovery. But if you are not comfortable with command line utility, there is an other very easy and free program called eraser. It completely removes sensitive data from your hard drive by overwriting it several times with carefully selected patterns.

Some of the features of Eraser are:
  1. It works with Windows XP (with Service Pack 3), Windows Server 2003 (with Service Pack 2), Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2
  2. It works with any drive that works with Windows
  3. Secure drive erasure methods are supported out of the box
  4. Erases files, folders and their previously deleted counterparts
  5. Works with an extremely customisable Scheduler

Ever had such an annoying message given by Windows?

Cannot delete file: Access is denied
There has been a sharing violation.
The source or destination file may be in use.
The file is in use by another program or user.
Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.

YouTube Frames is a new way of viewing the storyboard of the YouTube videos that give users a much a better idea of what’s inside any YouTube video . For instance, here’s the YouTube generated storyboard for  iPhone5- Rumours video.

Demo: iPhone5- next iPhone rumour update video
With the help of YouTube frames you can quickly review what's inside the video to decide whether to watch it or to skip it and save time by gathering the information from the frames. Internally, YouTube splits the video into multiple segments and each of these segments is represented with a single image frame. All these frames are then stitched together to form one big image that can help you visualize the entire video at a glance. When you watch a video on YouTube, your browser downloads the corresponding storyboard images in the background and is stored in browser cache and difficult to retrieve but this bookmarklet will easily solve you purpose.

Just add [Drag it to you bookmark tool-bar] the following YouTube Frames bookmarklet to your browser.

Open any video on the YouTube, then click the bookmarklet and it would display all the still image frames of that video on one page.
Note: it won’t work for embedded videos

Are you tired of opening a website which is temporarily off-line because thousands or millions of other users are also trying to access it? Does your network have a really low-bandwidth connection, such that everyone, even accessing the same web pages, suffers from slow downloads?  If so, CoralCDN might be your free solution for these problems! It will Handle all your worries of opening a website which is appearing down to you because of high number of people that are trying to open that website For e.g your college/university result website get flooded with students requests when the result is out ;-) , then this is going to provide a great help to you.

How to use CoralCDN:
Using CoralCDN is very simple, just append " .nyud.net " to the hostname of any URL
Example: http://jasmeetishere.blogspot.com.nyud.net
               http://google.com.nyud.net/Gmail
and your request for that URL will be handled by CoralCDN!

CoralCDN is a free and open content distribution network based around peer-to-peer technologies, comprised of a world-wide network of web proxies and nameservers. It allows a user to run a web site that offers high performance and meets huge demand. A peer-to-peer DNS layer transparently redirects browsers to participating caching proxies, which in turn cooperate to minimize load on the source web server. CoralCDN proxies automatically replicate content as a side effect of users accessing it, improving its availability.
Bonus Tip: You can also use this method to open/unblock the website which is blocked by your network administrator :)
